Lasers

Lasers

Lasers (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) have been used in aesthetics since the 1960’s. The technology has come a long way since then and they are used in many ways. Each laser frequency does something different. The depth of penetration into the skin and the target it strikes (water, melanin, or hemoglobin) depend upon the wavelength. Laser light exposure to any point is precise and of very short duration. Because the laser light is so concentrated and precisely directed, the area surrounding the treatment site is spared.

Having the ability to reach different depths and targets is what allows us to use lasers for such a variety of treatments. Lasers can be used to remove unwanted hair, treat vascular lesions, treat pigmentation issues, and treat fine lines and wrinkles to name a few.
